Partial Daylight Autonomy (DAp): A New Lighting Dynamic Metric to Optimize the Design of Windows for Seasonal Use Spaces

Nowadays, daylight dynamic metrics are the most useful indicators to quantify use of natural light, with autonomy (DA) being one widespread among all them. This metric represents percentage occupied time throughout year in an indoor space when reaches minimum illuminance level develop a specific task. Accordingly, higher DA, shorter switching on electric lighting. However, this considers for its calculations business days whole standard year, and is thus not accurate indicator seasonal spaces such as school classrooms. In context, variant proposed, namely partial (DAp), which non-lineal derivation DA that those spaces, helping define real order properly lighting therefore energy consumption.
